FMB120 vs FMB130

New FMB130 is the first advanced vehicle tracking system with programmable DIN/AIN/Negative/Impulse input. With these new features, you can have one tracking system for much wider range of use cases.

FMB120 can perform tasks on remote objects, such as monitoring engine status, controlling truck’s door etc.

FAQ

Q: How does this negative input work?

A: Negative input (ground sense) purpose is to detect ground when it‘s connected. There won‘t be needed to connect a power supply to external accessories that digital input could sense a change of a signal.
More information about negative digital input could be found in teltonika wiki:
https://wiki.teltonika.lt/view/FMB130_Negative_Input_Usage_Scenario

--

Q: How does it "facilitate" the support of accessories during their operation?

A: This functionality let to use ground connection, which helps to monitor vehicles states as door or seat belts, or you can connect panic button which will inform you to the server that something is happened and panic button was pressed.

--

Q: How to connect and configure it?

A: The external accessories should be connected to DIN2 wire and from configuration need to choose in System - > Input mode -> Ground sense.

--

Q: what are the main purpose of the negative input?

A: The main purpose is to connect to seat belts or to doors (open or closed) to get negative input, to know if the seat belts is attached or detached.

--

Q: What is impulse input used for?

A: The main reason is used for counting pulses to get information regarding the fuel level. Mainly for fuel impulses counting.

--

Q: How to configure impulse input?

A: To configure impulse counter, you should use DIN1/DIN2 and on this DIN, it will count impulses (max 50HZ) and send to the server. More information: https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/Impulse_counter

--

Q: How to configure a digital input as negative or impulse input?

A: The digital input must be configured as ground sense for the impulse input as DIN2/AIN1, If you use DIN1 as impulse counter then you do not have to configure anything, just activate the I/O parameter of DIN1.

--

Q: How to configure digital/analogue inputs/negative input?

A: Negative pulses can be configured in the system window in the mass detection input mode. For this, only one of DIN2/AIN1 wire can be used. If you use another DIN or AIN input, you only need to configure the I/O tab by activating it.

--

Q: How to configure DIN/AIN for flexible remote monitoring and control?

A: For AIN, you can use another AIN input and for DIN, There are also 3 DIN inputs.

--

Q: How to deal with flexible inputs configuration?

A: It detects automatically if AIN or DIN is used.

Hint:

  • Impulse counter can be configured by connecting DIN1 or DIN2 wire (one of them). If you will use DIN1 as impulse counter there is no any configuration needed, except enabling DIN1 I/O element.

  • Negative input can be configured by using only DIN2 wire, and this should be configured as "Ground sense" Input mode.
