Networks twist

2020 is an eventful year in radio technology. Old technology will be replaced by new technology.

Networks twist:

• 3G at Deutsche Telekom, switch off at the end of June 2021

• 3G at Vodafone in Germany, switch off at the end of June 2021

• 2G at T-Mobile in Netherlands, switch off at the end of June 2021

• 3G in Norway (Telia), switch off at the end December 2025

• 2G in Switzerland (Swisscom), switch off at the end December 2020

In Germany, Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica already have LTE-M.

• Neocortec (Germany): already have SubGHz Meshnet.

Note:

• Soon, pure GSM devices will no longer function in various European networks operator.

• LTE-M is the new radio technology. LTE-M is an advanced version of NB-IoT.
