FAQ

Q: Do teltonika products interfere or influence  Can bus data?

A: Teltonika products only have the ability to listen to CAN bus, not send any requests.

writing to CAN bus

Teltonika devices cannot write to CAN bus for safety reasons.

Nevertheless, CAN-CONTROL can only send some request commands to CAN bus such as:

  • lvcanopenalldoors = Open [unlock] all doors

  • lvcanclosealldoors = Close [lock] all doors

  • lvcanopentrunk =Open [unlock] trunk

  • lvcanturninglights = One flash of all turn lights ordered trough accidental / blinking turn light switch

There is no penalty (apart from possible time loss) for entering a longer code than supported, it just won't set.
It is always recommended to update the CAN adapter before you install it, to have the latest updates.

  • LV-CAN200 is supported with folowing devices: FM11XX, FMA1YX, FM6YXX, FMB6YX, FMB1YX, FM36YX

You can update all HW revisions to the latest firmware. The firmware will automatically set the maxim code length supported by a given HW revision.

LV-BOOT20

Teltonika LV-BOOT20 updates firmware of the following CAN adapters:

  • ALL-CAN300, LV-CAN200: connector cable, 10 pins
  • CAN-CONTROL: connector cable, 11 pins

Connections:

  7. Teltonika CAN adapter to be updated

Update process:

  • start LV-CAN200 Updater;
  • enter standard user name and standard password to log in;
  • LV-CAN200 Updater will connect to the Internet and updated the CAN adapter to the latest version automatically. The red LED will blink during upgrade.
